Mammoth Lakes, Calif. — United Airlines is offering San Francisco Bay Area residents convenient access to one of the country’s top year-round mountain resorts with new non-stop service from San Francisco International Airport to Mammoth Yosemite Airport. Flights will be operated by United Express carrier SkyWest Airlines, using 66-seat CRJ700 regional jets. The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart Thursday, December 16, 2010.
The service is expected to introduce the destination to an entirely new visitor base. “The new service offers great opportunities to enjoy all the activities and amenities that Mammoth Mountain has to offer,” said Howard Pickett, CMO of Mammoth Mountain. “Prior to the launch of the service, San Francisco residents had to drive to San Jose to catch a direct flight here, but now they will have convenient access much closer to home.”
The flight from San Francisco to Mammoth Lakes Yosemite airport will depart daily at 3:50pm. Return flights will depart from Mammoth at 5:27pm. Mammoth Lakes Yosemite airport is just 15 minutes from Mammoth Mountain Resort as well as a large number of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets and a large variety of restaurants.
